About

“We are the sum of our experiences, plus the influences of others minus the chances we didn’t take.”

Hello and nice to meet you. My name is Stefanie and I am a 30 year old married woman and mother of two amazing girls. My journey to self expression, acceptance and progression was a long one and I’d be a liar if I didn’t say it was still ongoing. We can always strive to improve something in our lives and we can always hope for a better future.
I was born in Northern Ireland in 1990 in Ballymena hospital. I spent the first 2 years living in a little house in Ballymena with my mother, father and two older half sisters. It was discovered when I was a few months old that I had a visual impairment, though the specific kind was not determined until I received tests at around 4 years old. We moved when I was two and a half to Buckinghamshire where my Dad had a new job. There I attended a little village school in Buckingham. I went through many investigations related to my vision and I was diagnosed with ONH (Optic Nerve Hypoplasia). They continued to investigate for signs of hormone problems which are common with this particular condition, but ultimately I did not need to receive any treatment.
I shortly went to a school in Aylesbury, before moving to Weymouth. Here I made many friends but once I started secondary school I struggled with keeping up with the work as much was on a blackboard. Ultimately I experienced some bullying and ostracising from my peers and ended up being diagnosed with clinical depression and started taking antidepressants.
Being home schooled temporarily and then starting a school for the visually impaired, I started to thrive but the road was not without it’s bumpy parts. Throughout this period I worked harder and gained some great friendships that are still ongoing to this day.
I took my GCSEs and went to mainstream College and studied Media. This year was one of the best and the worst of my life – feeling I belonged in a group was an amazing feeling and a sense of independence I had not experienced in my life. Also relationship issues and trauma lead me to having to take some time out when another severe depressive episode took hold of me.
But the next year I decided to attend RNC. I met some more amazing people that have continued to be my greatest friends and I studied Psychology, Sociology and English Literature as well as retaking my Math GCSE to get my Golden C Grade. I accomplished this though as nothing is smoothing sailing, there were some ups and downs. I did manage to have an amazing social life and was able to have my then-boyfriend-now-husband visit me every couple of weeks.
When leaving I moved in with my husband and within 2 years I was pregnant with my first and then 2 years later, the second. I have done a lot of soul searching and learning throughout the years since leaving formal education and feel that I have adapted into a better version of myself.

This is where the website comes in. My aim is to help all those from all walks of life to learn about themselves, become more confident and create a better version of themselves – as well as provide articles and writings on such topics I cover in my products and sometimes some content that isn’t related but is just for some fun. I look forward to sharing a journey with you to become more self aware and hopefully you can start your journey towards the vision of you that you truly want to have.
When you look in the mirror, who do you see? Do you want to look in the mirror and see someone you recognise, because you’ve accepted their character and you’ve wrote their story yourself? This is what I want to guide you to. Thank you for allowing me to get to know you, because no matter who you are your story is as valuable and important as mine.
